Why Play for the D.C. Divas?

Reason #7: Excellent Facilities

The D.C. Divas know that if you want to have a good practice, you need to be put in a good environment. We regularly hold practices at high schools that provide all the equipment, like blocking sleds, that a typical high school team would have. The Divas have even held pre-season training camps at locations like the University of Maryland’s historic Cole Field House. We work hard to create the kind of productive practice environment that is critical for developing a team into a powerhouse.

The Divas’ regular home field is Lee High School in Springfield, VA. However, as the premier women’s football team in the national capital region, the Divas also play occasional home games all across the DMV. In recent years, we have played games at Coolidge High School in DC and maintained a home field for several years in Landover, Maryland, reaching women’s football fans everywhere around the nation’s capital.

When the D.C. Divas go on the road, the team often charters a bus to get players to and from the game. The Divas also arrange for hotel rooms for our players, and we stay in very nice facilities. We don’t stay at five-star hotels, but we don’t stay at budget motels, either. The Divas are committed to providing a quality traveling experience for our athletes when we play on the road. Overall, ensuring a comfortable environment for our players – whether it’s at practice, at home games, or while traveling to road games – is an essential part of the D.C. Divas experience.
