Monique Millard Q&A

Who is your biggest supporter?
My husband.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Determined, dedicated, loyal.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Football on the beach at Hatteras Island.
How did you get into women’s football?
I have played co-ed flag football for a few years. A few of the women I played with told me that they also play for the D.C. Divas, so I tried out!
What was your biggest adjustment to playing women’s football?
Balancing my roles as a mother, a student, an employee, and a wife, while maintaining stability in my home. I knew being a woman came with many roles, but I never realized how much pressure there was in being a woman playing professional football until I became a D.C. Diva.
What is your most memorable Divas moment?
2010 at the Baltimore Nighthawks. I got my first interception as a rookie, got tackled, and that ended my season. I found out I was pregnant with my third child. I realized that there are many things in life we can take pride in and enjoy, and for me, playing football and my children are both inspirational and motivational in my life.
