Alice Cates Q&A

Who are your biggest supporters?
My teammates and coaches.
Who is your favorite NFL player? Why?
London Fletcher…he epitomizes reliability and is an unquestionable leader on and off the field.
What was the first sport you ever played?
Soccer at age four.
How did you get into women’s tackle football?
There’s a women’s flag football league in Houston where I met several women who played for the women’s tackle football teams in that area. I played one season with the H-Town Cyclones in 2009. After moving to DC, I wanted to check out the Divas, so I went to several games in 2011 and decided to try out for the 2012 season.
What is your most memorable Divas moment?
Rallying in Pittsburgh to win, 43-28, and clinch the 2012 division title. Eleni Kotsis going into beast mode in the playoff game against Pittsburgh was pretty awesome, too.
Why do you play women’s tackle football?
It is fun, challenging, and has given me the opportunity to meet an inspiring group of players and coaches.
