2005 Pigskin Club Posey Award

Vickie Lucas became the third female recipient of the Posey Award for excellence in women’s football, awarded by the Pigskin Club of Washington, DC. Lucas accepted the Posey Award at the Pigskin Club’s annual banquet on January 20, 2006.

Lucas joins teammates Donna Wilkinson and Allyson Hamlin as Posey Award winners. Lucas helped lead a Divas defense that produced seven shutouts in ten games in 2005 and surrendered a league-low 56 points.

One of the highlights of the evening was provided by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Adalius Thomas. When he heard that Lucas’ nickname was “Primetime,” Thomas sent a text message to his Baltimore teammate, Deion Sanders, saying he had met the “real Primetime.”
